The XII Unite! Dialogue concluded at Aalto University in Finland — one of the most important events in the calendar of the European university network, Unite!.

The Dialogue, held twice a year, brought together representatives of all partner universities — students, researchers, and administrative staff — to collaborate on initiatives that widen and strengthen the alliance’s scope and impact. Working in thematic groups, participants developed projects aimed at expanding joint educational programmes and double degrees, promoting innovative teaching methods and academic exchange, and establishing common research centres, support networks for young researchers, and partnerships with companies and public institutions.

Throughout the days in Finland, participants discussed key topics related to  all  five work packages for Unite!Widening.

“Building relationships is important, but maintaining and strengthening them is just as vital – and that’s exactly what happened here in Aalto,” said Prof. Renata Krzyżyńska, Vice-Rector for External Relations. “While we work together remotely every day, these regular in-person meetings take our initiatives to the next level and give them new momentum. It’s a great privilege to be part of this growing community and to develop together with it,” she added.

The next Unite! Dialogue will be hosted by Politecnico di Torino in February 2026.

For the Unite! Widening project, this moment marks the approach to the halfway point of its implementation period. Ahead lie many exciting events, workshops, and conferences, as well as new materials designed for postdocs, researchers, and administrative staff interested in engaging with the widening network of European universities.
