The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is proud to host the upcoming Unite! Widening Training Series from May 26 to 28, 2026. This intensive “lunch-to-lunch” program has been specifically curated for PhD students and Early Career Researchers from both Unite! partner institutions and Widening universities.

As the academic landscape becomes increasingly globalized, technical expertise alone is no longer the sole benchmark for success. This training series aims to equip the next generation of scholars with the essential skills needed to navigate ethical complexities and diverse professional environments.

Core Training Pillars

The program focuses on three critical areas designed to broaden the scope and impact of modern research:

  • Equity in Academia: Researchers will gain actionable tools to address unconscious bias and learn how to effectively integrate gender perspectives into their scientific work.

This 3-day in-person training focuses on Transparency, Gender Balance, and Cultural Diversity in research environments, with one guiding question: how do we build research environments that are fair, transparent and inclusive in everyday practice?
