The Unite!Widening has announced two exciting in-person initiatives hosted by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Designed to boost research impact, elevate funding success, and foster international collaboration, these fully funded programs offer European researchers and administrative staff a chance to expand their networks and skills.
1. Widening Training @KTH: IPR, Knowledge Valorization, and Entrepreneurship
How do researchers and university staff turn scientific knowledge into real-world impact?
This intensive 3-day program is designed for academic minds who want to bridge the gap between lab research and market application. Participants will explore commercialization journeys through interactive workshops, expert presentations, and firsthand study visits.

2. Widening Staff Week @KTH: Research and Innovation Support
For professionals working behind the scenes of major research grants, this 5-day in-person event offers a deep dive into mastering Horizon Europe proposal and project support. The program follows a lunch-to-lunch format featuring presentations, collaborative workshops, and social networking opportunities.

Logistics, Costs, and Available Slots
Participation in both events is free of charge. Thanks to dedicated funding, travel and accommodation coverage varies by institution:
- ULisboa and WrocławTech Participants: Costs are fully covered according to Unite! Widening rules.
- Other Participants: Travel and accommodation can be funded via alternative university schemes, such as Erasmus+.
Available Allocations
The slots for each event are distributed as follows to ensure diverse institutional representation:
- Widening Training Slots: 6 slots for ULisboa , 6 slots for WrocławTech , 1–2 slots for each other Unite! university (including KTH) , and 4 slots for other Widening universities.
- Widening Staff Week Slots: 10 slots for ULisboa , 10 slots for WrocławTech , up to 10 slots for each other Unite! university (including KTH R&I staff) , and 4 slots for other Widening universities.
How to Apply
The deadline for applications for both programs is July 1, 2026. All applicants will be notified of their admission status by July 10, 2026.
