Unite!Widening enhances scientific excellence and maximizes knowledge impact by fostering extensive collaboration across European universities and partners from diverse regions.
The project has been conceived to be a complementary project under the umbrella of the European University Alliance Unite! and aims to further raise excellence in science and in knowledge valorisation of Alliance universities through increased and interwoven cooperation with Universities from Widening and non-Widening countries.
On June 6, 2025, a significant online event, the “European Excellence Initiative (EEI) Information Day,” took place via MS Teams. This half-day session, higlighted on the intricacies of the HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-01-ACCESS-01 call under Horizon Europe.

As part of the Unite! Widening project (Task 2.5), an online Open Science Policy Forum among EU Alliances was successfully held on May 22, 2025, bringing together 42 participants across Europe to accelerate and spark the development of a European Open Science and Innovation Area among Widening and non-Widening countries. Led by Aalto University, ULisboa, and WroclawTech, the forum featured contributions from eight EU Alliances: EELISA, ENHANCE, ENLIGHT, EUGLOH, PIONEER, T4EU, UNITE!, and YUFE.
